On this page you will find brief, spoiler-free summaries of the main characters of Pied Piper. Be warned that the individual, detailed profile pages contain spoilers for the entire story, as well as all three Xenosaga games. Please proceed with caution!
A note about names: With the official English release of Xenosaga III, we now know the canon names for most of the major Pied Piper characters. I have changed their names in this translation to the new, canon names. More about this on the FAQ page. Yes, I liked my original names better, but canon is canon, and this fandom is confusing enough without having two names for all these characters floating around.
Jan Sauer
Age: 30
A member of the Galaxy Federation's special-ops police force.
The cool and composed leader of an investigative detachment squad.
Later known as Ziggy.
Melisse Ortus
Age: 23
A novice investigator in Jan's squad.
Has a very strong and serious sense of justice.
Lactis
Age: Appears 25
An early model realian.
Specializes in U.M.N. data acquisition and analysis.
Bugs
A combat support robot that predates realians.
Has an AI designed to emulate a young boy.
In virtual reality, performs duties like backup and weapons support.
Erich Weber
Age: 28
A member who specializes in U.M.N. dives, and when acting as operator provides external support.
Also oversees the operation of Bugs.
Mikhail Ortmann
Age: 27
A U.M.N. operator with extensive knowledge of network connections.
Oversees external dive support along with Erich.
Sharon Rozas
Age: 29
Works as a doctor in an Abraxas hospital.
Her husband is dead.
Lives with her son Joaquin.
Joaquin Rozas
Age: 11
Sharon's son.
A spirited and vivacious boy with a love of animals.
Voyager
A criminal who commits horrible acts of cyberterrorism through the U.M.N.
His identity is unknown.
